Seif:I’m the best for Zanzibar

Civic United Front (CUF) Zanzibar presidential candidate Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad has reiterated his stand that he is the right man to lead the new national unity government.

Mr Hamad stance comes just few days after he arrived from his official tour to South Africa where he visited Western Cape Province to learn how the coalition government are run.

The three days visit which began on August 26 was organised by CUF in collaborations with Friedrich Naumann Stiftung of Germany and Democratic Alliance of South Africa.

Among the things that Mr Hamad learnt in Western Cape was how the modern government conduct their activities and important things to consider when making important decision in coalition governments.

Other things he learnt included various economic strategies, how to make decisions on priorities when preparing a national budget in a coalition governments.

Speaking after his arrival in the country last Sunday, said he was happy to have a chance of experiencing how the coalition government conducts their business.

He said the tour has equipped him with important knowledge that makes him a far better candidate to lead Zanzibar under a new system of governing.

“I am very happy because the journey has been of great importance to me for that I would like to express my sincere gratitude to DA…I am looking forward to implement what i saw in Western Cape while I assume power after the election,” he said.

While in the tour, Mr Hamad who went together with Mr Nassor Ahmed Mazrui a former member of House of Representatives also met several Western Cape government officials.

Speaking about the tour CUF head of foreign affairs and international cooperation Mr Ismail Jussa said CUF will conduct a seminar to make sure that Maalim Seif impart the knowledge to his fellow members.
